Alabama Welcome Station

The Alabama Welcome Station was not one that we had planned out with Roadtrippers either. Actually, we saw it as we were on the highway and my bestie suggested we stop there, so we did. It was a great pit stop to stretch our legs and use the restroom after having been driving for several hours already.

The visitor’s center had a very small museum set up inside, as well as bathrooms and vending machines. There were also some monuments that recommended visiting the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.

We didn’t hang out here long but we did stretch our legs and take some pictures with the Alabama signs and flags.

Summary

The Alabama Welcome Station was just a real short stop to stretch our legs and empty our bladders. There’s not really much to say about it. That said, if we hadn’t stopped here, I likely wouldn’t have thought of visiting the battleship. So, it was well worth it. Welcome centers are safe places to stop and get photos of state signs and flags if you’re into that. You can also find cute souvenirs sometimes and brochures for places you might want to add to your trip. And getting to pee is a great bonus!

I think on future out-of-state trips, I’ll make it a point to stop at the visitors centers and visit. It’s cool to learn a little bit about the state we’re getting ready to visit and you never know, they might have a suggested road trip stop that you weren’t aware of. Even when it’s on Roadtrippers, there’s so much available that it’s real easy to miss stuff.
