Pass Christian Beach Mississippi

Pass Christian Beach Mississippi - July 11 2015

July 11, 2015

We got to see Pass Christian Beach Mississippi when my bestie and I took my second trip to NOLA.  On the way, we talked about how neither of us really liked taking the interstates on road trips because you don’t see as much.  I mean, sure, you get to where you’re going faster, but you miss out on so many neat things doing it that way!

I still had not yet discovered Roadtrippers but, being Floridians and knowing basic geography, we knew that if we followed the Gulf of Mexico towards the East, we’d make it to Florida.  So as part of our adventure, we decided to take the scenic route home instead of the highways so that we could see new things.

Since we were stopping in Alabama for the night to surprise my son with an unexpected road trip stop, time wasn’t going to be an issue with taking the scenic route.  We left NOLA in the afternoon as it was starting to get stormy and we don’t really like driving in that mess… especially in new turf.  So we headed out in the early afternoon as the skies darkened.  And we ignored my gps telling us to turn around and get on the highway… for like an hour.

It was cool because we got to see some of the actual bayou that is New Orleans, Louisiana.  We stumbled upon Pass Christian Beach shortly after leaving NOLA.  This was a great spot to hop out and stretch our legs!

About Pass Christian Beach Mississippi

Pass Christian Beach is located right off of highway 90, otherwise known as West Coastal Blvd in Mississippi.  There seems to be an East Pass Christian Beach and a Central Pass Christian Beach, I’m not entirely sure which one we were at.  I didn’t get an exact address of where we stopped.  We weren’t planning a beach stop, but I remember that we stopped shortly before a Waffle House.  Looking across the street from the beach, all I could see was trees and beautiful mansions.

This beach had the easiest access ever.  We literally pulled over into a parking spot and got out.  After taking three steps down from the sidewalk, we were on the beach.  I think the tide was out because we were able to walk out pretty far in the shallow water and sand bars.  It felt so good after being in the car all day!

Pass Christian Beach Mississippi – Our Stop

Entrance - Pass Christian Beach Mississippi - July 11 2015We didn’t stay on the beach too long.  After walking out into the water and looking for shells a little bit, we headed back to the car.  While in the water, we saw a crab and watched it for a few minutes but otherwise just enjoyed the fresh air.  There were some people flying kites further on down the beach so we watched that a little bit.

We looked for shells a little bit but we didn’t really find much.  The beach was nice, it wasn’t crowded at all, in fact, there were very few people on the beach as far as we could see in both directions.  It was nice and quiet, just a little windy.

We compared human footprints to that of a bird and we took pictures of our shadows and pictures of each other.  Then we hit the road again for a minute before stopping to eat at the Waffle House.  It was a great little stop.

Summary

In Summary, I would Pass Christian Beach Mississippi a 10 out of 10.  I didn’t have a single complaint about this beach.  Easy access, not crowded, not trashed, no traffic, free to visit, etc..  If you happen to be staying in Pass Christian, Mississippi, check out the beaches on the Roadtrippers Trip Planner and consider adding it to your trip.

I’d highly recommend this stop.  Have you been there?  I’d love to hear what you thought of it.  Please drop a few lines in the comments box below and let me know how your visit went.

In the meantime, safe travels!
