Roadtrippers Promo Code & Product Review

Product Reviews

The Roadtrippers software application allows people to plan a road trip by mapping the route from point A to point B (and back if round trip) while also discovering points of interest to stop at in the United States and Canada.

Once you create a trip and save it, you can sync the journey to the Roadtrippers app on Android or iPhone, which will then provide turn-by-turn navigation, gas cost estimation, time estimation between each stop, and additional discoveries during the trip.

Within the application, you can read a summary for each point of interest and any reviews other Roadtrippers users have left. The software provides the hours of operation and available photos of each point of interest. Their address, phone number, and website are also provided when available on the application.

If you’re ready for a vacation and unsure where to go, Roadtrippers has you covered. With the millions of the world’s most fascinating places in the Roadtrippers database, you’ll never need to look far for a place to go. Roadtrippers offers many pre-planned trips for you to take for the most iconic experiences to make your trip memorable. Tell the software where you want to go and what types of stops interest you.

ORIGINS AND OWNERSHIPCEO James Fisher

Roadtrippers was created in 2010 by CEO James Fisher and fellow co-founder Tatiana Parent out of frustration from lack of travel resources.

James was a world traveler who worked for his family business, running epic road trips and African Safari tours, sometimes living in a single vehicle for up to a year.

Likewise, Tatiana had traveled extensively in the United States and shared her passion for travel. Both had an insatiable craving for extraordinary places.

With very few software applications that would sync travel advice, navigation, and find independent stops for road trips, Roadtrippers was the resolution to an unsolved problem at the time. James and Tatiana moved from Great Britain to focus on the company in 2011. By July of the same year, Roadtrippers accepts a position in a startup accelerator program run by The Brandery in Cincinnati.

A public beta version of the Roadtrippers application was released in June 2012, allowing users to test it and provide feedback before the full release.

WORD ON THE STREETRoadtrippers Rating

There is a good mixture of good and bad reviews, like anything else, would have. Reading through the bad reviews, I see many complaints about the application no longer offering so much on the free version.

Many people find $30 per year far too expensive for what the application provides, especially when they only need to use it for a single trip.

There are some complaints that the map is inaccurate or glitchy. As an IT person, I can say that this is a tricky one because glitches can happen due to many things that may or may not be related to the application. I’m unsure whether the highlighted content issue I experienced with Roadtrippers is associated with the app or my computer. But for the sake of the reviews, we’ll give the reviewers the benefit of the doubt.

By and far, the majority of the complaints are specifically about the annual fee now because this application used to be free. Out of 37.1 thousand ratings, Roadtrippers earned a 4.5 out of 5. That’s nearly a perfect score!

MY TAKE ON ROADTRIPPERS

Without any Roadtrippers promo code, I first used it back in 2015 when I planned our first trip to Washington DC… back when it was free. I’ve been there before on business, but that didn’t give me much time to see all the things.

My son was disappointed that he didn’t get to go with me on that business trip as that was a bucket list item for him as a history buff (even though he was only nine years old at the time).

Since he wanted to go so badly, I planned a vacation for my son and me to go to Washington DC and spend a reasonable amount of time there to see as much as possible. Had I not stumbled across Roadtrippers, we wouldn’t have seen HALF of what we were able to accomplish on that trip!

Naturally, when it was time to plan our next trip, I returned to this application. Unfortunately, Roadtrippers prompted me to subscribe to Plus with an annual fee to get more than seven waypoints (stops) on my trip. I did not hesitate; I paid for Plus and recently renewed those subscriptions. Not once have I regretted it, not even for a second.

If I had experienced the problems others have reported, I would be more skeptical. But I haven’t experienced issues with this application that were significant to my trips.

As of this writing, I have 19 trips saved in this application that have either been taken, planned, or are in progress. I am so in love with this software that I plan trips just to plan them! I have a backlog of vacations! How crazy is that?

What I Like:

  • Good Support
  • Customized Gas Estimate Based on Vehicle
  • Distance / Time Estimations Between Stops
  • Offline Maps
  • Helps Find Amazing Places
  • Navigation through Speakers with Bluetooth
  • Printable Trip Guides with Personal Notes
  • Drag and Drop Feature to change the order of stops
  • Ability to Share Trip Guides on social media or via email
  • Ability to Collaborate with Others on Trip Planning

What I Don’t Like:

  • On Website Causes Highlighted Content when Dragging Map
  • Cannot Print Specific Pages of Trip Guide / All or Nothing
  • Only seven stops are allowed on the free version
  • $30 per year for the Plus version
  • Difficult to reverse the order of a trip
  • Portrait Mode only on Devices

ROADTRIPPERS PROMO CODE APPROVED! Roadtrippers #1 Recommendation

I highly recommend using Roadtrippers to plan your trips; this would be my #1 recommendation for road trip planners. I’ve now planned several trips using this software on both my Windows computer and iPhone and iPad… all without issue. Roadtrippers has allowed me to get the most bang for my buck when traveling in the car.

Even when my son and I take day trips to somewhere close by for an outing, I pull up the Roadtrippers app and check to see if there are other stops nearby that we could check out while we’re around.

So, take it from me, grab your Roadtrippers promo code above and get to planning!

All the best,
