St. Augustine FL Ghost Tour
St. AugustineSt. Augustine FL Ghost Tour
My son’s birthday is in mid-January and in 2017, he decided that he wanted to celebrate his birthday by doing a haunted ghost tour in St. Augustine. He’s a history buff and he loves to visit historic places. St. Augustine is one of his favorites because there is so much history there.
So, one of his birthday presents that year was the Ghosts & Gravestones tour in St. Augustine. Now St. Augustine is a few hours outside of Orlando so it was a day trip except… we took it in the evening time and came back around midnight. We left home in time to get there before dark so we could explore some of the area more before taking the tour.
We stopped at the St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum first to take a few pictures and look around. Then we walked around the fort area and took some pictures of interesting things we saw along the way.
The actual ghost tour started shortly after dark and took us through the Tolomoto Cemetery, Potter’s Wax Museum, and the Old St. John’s County Jail. We had so much fun on this tour! We both had a really good time learning the history and hearing the ghost stories. I would actually go back and do this tour all over again.

About St. Augustine FL Ghost Tour
The Ghosts & Gravestones tour in St. Augustine has you climb aboard the trolley of doomed while the Ghost Host attempts to entrance you with tales of misfortune and mayhem. You hear stories about long gone residents of the city that can allegedly still be seen in numerous locations throughout the city.
The tales are based on years of research, personal accounts, and real-life experiences. Founded 42 years before the famous Jamestown settlement, St. Augustine’s cultural influence ranges from Native American to Spanish to British and many more.
You’ll learn about the Castillo de San Marcos, the Old Drug Store, the Tolomoto Cemetery and the Old County Jail. You may even get to go inside the Old Jail and take a tour of the cells and the gallows.
The tour’s pickup location is at 27 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, Florida. Parking is free for guests. Tours run nightly but are closed December 24 & 25. Tour times vary according to date, you’ll want to reserve your spot in advance. The tour costs $26.67 for a 1 hour tour, $82.67 for the Day/Night Package, or $30.34 for just the Old Jail After Dark package.
Summary
Once again, we didn’t make a Roadtrippers itinerary for this trip because it was the only place we planned to go for the day. I simply searched for ghost tours in St. Augustine and picked the one that looked the most interesting.
If you ever find yourself in or around St. Augustine, Florida, and you have any interest in history, ghosts, or the paranormal. This would be a really cool stop for you. I do highly recommend this one. The people were great, the tour was great, and we had a really good time.
Have you taken it already? I’d love to hear what you thought of it. Did you get creeped out in the Old Jail?
